Volvo XC90 Successor Will Be Fully Electric

Lotus has revealed its latest fully electric vehicle, the Emeya. A four-door sports sedan, the Emeya is powered by a 102 kWh battery pack and is all-wheel drive. The Emeya is remarkably fast, with its 905 hp output allowing for a 0-62 mph time of just 2.78 seconds. Top speed is limited to 159 mph.

Meet the new Tesla Model 3, which is set to go on sale later this year. The refreshed “Project Highland” 3 now has 421 miles of range in Long Range guise, meanwhile the RWD is good for 344 miles (all figures with 18” alloys). 0-62 mph times are 4.4 seconds and 6.1 seconds respectively. Info on the stats of the Performance version is somewhat limited at the moment.

Lamborghini’s first electric vehicle will launch in 2028. Unveiled in concept form earlier this week, the Lanzador is an ‘Ultra-GT’ with 1,341 hp and seating for 4. Exact details like range and 0-60 mph times remain under wraps for now, but Lamborghini promises the Lanzador will have a “new generation high-performance battery, which also ensures a long range".

Meet the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ, the first all-electric Escalade. Powered by a battery over 200 kWh in size, the Escalade IQ has 450 miles of claimed range. It also produces up to 750 hp in “Velocity Max” mode and can sprint from 0-60 mph in under 5 seconds.

Lucid Motors CEO Peter Rawlinson has stated that future mass-market EVs only need 250 miles of range. He also believes that Lucid can potentially supply some technology for a $25,000 entry-level EV, although the brand itself has no plans to launch a budget offering as it wants to remain more premium. This comes not long after Lucid announced a deal with British luxury marque Aston Martin, who will adapt Lucid’s technology for its own EVs. Thoughts?

Porsche wants the Mission X to be the fastest road-legal vehicle on the Nürburgring, should the electric hypercar reach production. Shown ahead of Porsche’s 75th anniversary, the Mission X Concept previews what is believed by many to be the spiritual successor to the mighty 918 Spyder. Porsche has also stated that, should the Mission X go into production, it wants it to have a power-to-weight ratio of approximately one horsepower per 2.2 lbs and more downforce than the current 911 GT3 RS. Thoughts?
