The Long Range versions of the Model S and X are now $5,000 extra.

Tesla has increased pricing again, this time for the Long Range versions of the Model S and X. The Model S LR, which started at $69,420 only a few months ago before the model was revised, is now $89,990. Meanwhile the Model X LR now comes in at $99,990. Both models received a $5k price bump overnight.

When the revised Model S and X were first revealed back in January, they started at $79,990 and $89,990. This second $5k price increase means a total price rise of $10k in just over 6 months. And as stated above, the previous iteration Model S LR was only $69,420 starting – over $20k less.

No specific reason was given for the price rise. However, it is most likely related to the global chip shortage. What are your thoughts on the new Model S and X? Let us know down in the replies section below.
