First deliveries are expected in Q4 of this year.

Volvo has revealed pricing for the all-electric C40 Recharge, the first model in the firm’s history that will solely be available in fully electric form. The fastback equivalent of the XC40 Recharge, the C40 Recharge will retail at $58,750 before delivery charges or incentives have been factored in. This means a premium of $4,760 versus the XC40 Recharge.

Although a price point nearing $60k may sound excessive when compared to some of its rivals, it’s important to note the C40 Recharge comes with a lot of kit as standard. For the moment, only Ultimate Trim is available meaning all the option boxes come ticked for that $58,750 price tag.

“The New C40 Recharge will be available in the Ultimate specification level and includes every available feature such as Android Operating System with Google imbedded, oversized fixed Panoramic Moonroof, Pixel LED lighting, Pilot Assist, Harman Kardon Premium Sound, 360° Surround View Camera and Unique 20” wheels.  Customers can choose the Fjord Blue Carpet for no additional charge and it may be combined with 4 of the 7 exterior paint colors.”

Not bad right? And when it comes to range and performance, the C40 Recharge also impresses. Unsurprisingly, power stems from the same 78kWh pack as the XC40 Recharge. However, thanks to its sloped design range is marginally better – an estimated 261 miles WLTP or 210 miles EPA. The C40 Recharge is rather rapid too, with 0-60 mph taking just 4.7 seconds. Total power output is a hefty 402bhp, meanwhile torque totals 660 Nm. The C40 Recharge comes in dual-motor spec as standard.

As stated above, first deliveries are expected in the last quarter of this year. What are your thoughts on the C40 Recharge? As always, let us know in the replies section.
