It also has 805 hp…

German EV startup E-Legend has revealed renderings of their first vehicle – an incredibly powerful all-electric homage to Audi’s 1980s Quattro rally car. Dubbed the EL1, E-Legend plans to build only 30 examples should sufficient demand be there.

Powered by a 90kWh battery pack, the EL1 produces 805 hp and can sprint from 0-62 mph in just 2.8 seconds according to the German firm. Power stems from three electric motors. Meanwhile, range is a claimed 249 miles per charge.

Weight saving is key, with E-Legend using a carbon monocoque clad in CFRP (carbon fiber-reinforced plastic) body panels. This means total curb weight is just 3,703 pounds (1,680 kg). Whilst this may still sound like a lot, for a three-motor EV it’s really not.

E-Legend aims to have a prototype EL1 by early 2022. Customer deliveries meanwhile are targeted for the end of 2023, with the first 12 examples being delivered then.

Prices start at €890,000 ($1,053,000) before tax. E-Legend also plans to launch two further electric models, one of which is reportedly inspired by the iconic Lancia Stratos.
