Tesla Model S Plaid+ Canceled

The top-of-the-line, $150k version of the Tesla Model S has been canned before production even started.
Tesla has canceled the Model S Plaid+, according to CEO Elon Musk on Twitter. Musk stated there was “no need” for the Plaid+ as the regular Plaid was “just so good”.
In terms of performance, both the Plaid and Plaid+ are equally rapid. Both have 200 mph top speeds, and sub-2 second 0-60 mph times. However, the Plaid+ had a claimed 520 mile range. In comparison, the Plaid only manages 390 miles per charge according to Tesla, which is less than the likes of the Lucid Air and Mercedes EQS.
A Long Range version of the refreshed Model S will also be available. It will manage 412 miles per charge according to Tesla, and go from 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds. Pricing for the Long Range starts at $79,990 meanwhile the Plaid Model S comes in at $119,990. The Model S Plaid+ would have started at $149,990 if it had made it to production.
What are your thoughts on Tesla’s decision to cancel the Plaid+? Are you disappointed there will be no Model S with over 500 miles of range? Let us know your thoughts in the replies section below.
