You can now lease a new Leaf for less than a dollar – if you live in Virginia and want a new Titan truck too.
A Nissan dealership in Springfield, Virginia has put out an interesting deal for the 2021 Nissan Leaf.
Hart Nissan in Springfield offered a 2-year, 10,000 mile lease on the electric Leaf hatch for customers buying a Nissan Titan. 99 cents up front, no monthly payments. Hart Nissan’s website shows they had 5 Leaf Plus units available at the time. All 5 have been sold since then.
This deal is most likely due to the Nissan Titan’s poor sales. In fact, the Titan is actually the worst selling pickup truck in the United States, selling less than 20,000 units in 2020. For reference, 1.7 million total pickup trucks that were sold last year. It’s high base price of $41,375 USD made it a rather uncompetitive alternative to the significantly less expensive Ford F-150 and the Chevrolet Silverado. However, the addition of a $30,000 electric hatchback with 226 miles of range may marginally improve things, at least for this Virginia dealer.
