Hyundai has revealed the US-spec version of their highly anticipated Ioniq 5 crossover. Coming in Fall 2021, the Ioniq 5 can now be reserved by those in the US with a refundable $100 deposit.

Unlike in Europe and Asia, only one battery pack will be available in the US – the larger 77.4kWh unit. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 will be good for around 300 miles per charge in RWD guise. Dual-motor AWD variants will also be available. The latter will be good for 0-60 mph in less than 5 seconds.

  • Shooting Star (Gray Matte)

Meanwhile three interior colors will be available:

As mentioned above, those in the US who buy an Ioniq 5 will also receive two years free charging on the vast Electrify America network. However, this will be somewhat limited. Hyundai noted the free charging will be restricted to “free unlimited 30-minute complimentary charging sessions”. The Ioniq 5 can charge at incredibly high speeds; it’s capable of going from 10-80% in just 18 minutes on a 350kW charger.

Ioniq 5 Lineup

Three trim levels will be available in the US for both the RWD and AWD Ioniq 5. They consist of Limited, SEL and SE trims.

US pricing for the Ioniq 5 is still unknown, but is expected to be revealed soon. You can watch the full premiere of the US-spec Ioniq 5 here.
