The Solterra will be the brand’s first EV and will be co-developed with Toyota.
Subaru has teased their first EV, dubbed the Solterra. Previously referred to as the Evoltis, the Solterra will arrive in 2022 and will be closely related to the production version of the Toyota bZ4X Concept.
It comes as little surprise then, that the Solterra will be based off the same e-TNGA base as the bZ4X. Subaru aims for the Solterra to be a global car and not restricted to only a handful of markets. This means sales in Japan, China, the US, Canada and Europe are all planned to commence in mid-2022.
No information regarding specs has been revealed. We should know more in the coming months as production nears. Either way, the Solterra will no doubt be a strong competitor in an increasingly saturated segment – electric crossovers.
