Just days after unveiling the ultra-lux EQS sedan, Mercedes has revealed another EV – the EQB crossover. Effectively an electrified version of the popular GLB, the EQB can (like its ICE twin) seat up to seven people.

Although Merc hasn’t revealed all the powertrain details just yet, we do know the EQB 350 will come with a 66.5kWh pack and be good for 260 miles of WLTP range. Charging from 10 to 80 percent will take only around 30 minutes on a 100kW fast charger too. Both FWD and AWD variants will be available, with the most powerful EQB producing over 272 horsepower.

Inside the EQB is virtually the same as the GLB. However, a few subtle changes have been made to remind you you’re driving an EQ. Blue lighting strips have been added as well as new dashboard trims, for example. The infotainment setup consists of two 10” screens with support for ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice assistant.

The EQB will go on sale in China and Europe late this year, with a US launch likely for early 2022. Well, what are your thoughts on the EQB? Would you consider one over the many alternative electric crossovers? One of its USPs has to be the 7-seat option – a rarity in this segment. Let us know your thoughts in the replies section below!
