Volkswagen Unveils ID.6 Crozz And ID.6 X

By B. O’Hare
Volkswagen has unveiled its third ID Model – the full-sized, 7-seater ID.6. Exclusively for the Chinese market, the ID.6 Crozz will be built by FAW Volkswagen in Foshan meanwhile the ID.6 X will be made by SAIC Volkswagen in Anting. For those of you unaware, both FAW Volkswagen and SAIC Volkswagen are separate joint ventures of VW.
Tailored “specifically to the needs of the Chinese market” the ID.6 will be available in two different battery sizes – 58kWh and 77kWh. Two version of the 58kWh will actually be available, one with slightly more power than the other. If you opt for the 77kWh pack, you’ll also have the choice of either RWD or AWD.
Range is up to 365 miles per charge on the NEDC cycle in the optimum spec, meanwhile 0-60 can take as low as 6.6 seconds in dual-motor 77kWh config. Buyers will also be able to choose between 19”, 20” and 21” alloys.
Previewed by 2019’s ID Roomzz concept, the ID.6 is unsurprisingly based off the VW Group’s diverse MEB platform. Around 30 cm longer than an ID.4, the ID.6 features a 12” central infotainment screen and “Hello ID.” voice control. An augmented reality HUD setup will be available as an optional extra.
Well, what are your thoughts on the ID.6? Would you consider one if it was available in Europe or the US, or for our Chinese readers chasing after a large EV, are you interested in the ID.6? Let us know your thoughts in the replies section below!
