Kia Reveals Full EV6 Specs

By B. O’Hare

Kia has revealed the full specs of their upcoming EV6 crossover, a few weeks after it was unveiled.

“Taking electric performance to another level” the top—the-of-line GT version of the EV6 produces 577bhp, goes from 0-62 mph in just 3.5 seconds and has a 162 mph top speed – making it quicker than a Porsche Taycan 4S in terms of brute-force acceleration.

However, for those of us who want a more affordable, non-GT version of the EV6 two battery pack options are available. The 77.4kWh EV6 in RWD guise offers a seriously impressive 316 miles of range, meanwhile the base 58kWh pack offers 235 miles per charge in RWD spec. AWD is available on both, boosting range marginally.

Based on the Hyundai Motor Group’s new E-GMP chassis, the EV6 is equipped with 800V charging architecture. This means charging from 0-80% can take as little as 18 minutes, with 62 miles of range being added in just 4.5 minutes on an appropriate fast charger.

Inside, one can find dual 12” displays under curved glass. Augmented reality HUD is also available, as are a number of driver assist features.

Pricing for the US was not revealed, although in the UK the EV6 will start at £40,895 ($56,267) for the entry-level RWD 58kWh variant, ranging up to £58,295 ($80,200) for the performance-oriented GT.
