Meet Twisted Automotive’s $185k All-Electric Defender

By B. O’Hare
Twisted Automotive, a Virginia-based tuner specializing in Land Rover Defender conversions, has unveiled their latest creation. Based off the 2-door Defender 90, the ‘NAS-E’ is powered by a 60kWh battery capable of around 200 miles per charge.
Just 30 will be built in total, with prices starting at $185,000 for the 214bhp base NAS-E and ranging up to $210,000 for the 320bhp ‘NAS-E Plus’. Each bespoke build comes with Alston leather seats, a modern infotainment system and two driving modes – Sport Eco and Off-Road.
Given the limited production run, customers can configure their own NAS-E in a range of specialized colors such as Malibu (bright orange // yellow) and Yosemite (deciduous green). Each NAS-E will come with a 2 year // 20,000 mile warranty with first deliveries expected for early next year. Because of the small size of Twisted and the fact that COVID-19 is limiting the availability of foreign markets, the NAS-E is only available to those in the US.
